Report: Voice assistants in use to triple to 8 billion by 2023

MY THOUGHTS:
TechCrunch is reporting on a Juniper Research forecast in which they project 8 billion digital voice assistants will be in use by 2023. There are a couple of very interesting points here: 1. Juniper includes smart TV voice assistants and wearables into this mix (along with smartphones and smart speakers). 2. They also believe that the rise of digital assistants will negatively affect the global mobile app market based on the thinking that the simpler interactions provided by standalone apps will become outsourced to voice assistants.
